Default Dented oil pan.. and .. turbo ...

i was driving along today and thump biiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggg asssss rock in the middle of a one laned street i hit it... minor dent in my intercooler piping but a good sized dent in my oil pan about 1/2 and inch deep.. in the middle of the oil pan.. MY QUESTION IS... will this inhibit the flow of my motor oil.. and my oil pick up for the turbo the last thing i want is my turbo to cease..

1/2 inch would probably affect the oil pick-up. The pick-up is only like .5 inch away from the oil pan.

Any engine builders care to confirm?

Here are the pics: Notice how this 5.5qt oil pan is a lot cleaner then the other oil pan with the kicked out sump. This one looks like its been made like that, while other moroso 5.5qt oil pan look like a DIY hacksaw project.

i would think if its dented they you can really hurt your motor because the oil pick up might not be able to get the oil
the old pick is so close to the bottom of the pan that the pan wont even bolt up and will hit the oil pick up if you try to mount it with out the oil pan gasket. so you know its really close and if its dented i'm sure you can run the risk of ******* **** up

you can buy moroso baffled 4 quart oil pans on ebay for $132 which is great for road racing and it uses the stock oil pick up. its also better and cheaper than an oem pan.

or if you got money you can buy the way more expensive 5 quart one

You may want to even consider a leak down after the fact. Better safe than sorry.

do u know what a burnt piston drives like? have u ever had one b4? no...alot of the time people dont know they are bad until they check everything...and u might not always notice a loss in power right away or enough of a power loss to notice period...plus if its burnt...then eventually u will screw ur rings...then burn oil...then really have a problem...

I fucked up my axles the other day on Kimball...Euclid is closed and I didnt see the metal plates in the road on the detour, and cracked both sides, as well as the input shaft bearing...
