'00 Accord Needs New Alternator...
...after only 60K miles. This dosen't seem like an excessive amount of time or miles for an alternator change...does it?
Car is driven easily, a mix between hwy and city driving.
Cost: about $350 with labor.
I thought I might get more miles before a somewhat major part change.
Opinions?

If you're alternator failed electrically, from excessive load; you might entertain hooking up with these guys. How does a 150amp Alternator sound?

Uh...thanks. But why, oh why, would I buy an alternator with 80K on it when my OEM Honda alternator just quit after only 60K miles???!!
Dosen't make sense.

i have a slightly used alternator from my friends accord it only has 27,000 on it. still mint asking about 150$ let me know if you need it. changed because he upgraded the alternator
it's probably not your driving style that crap'ed out the alternator, it's the shitty made alternator that honda stop putting it on newer honda.
the old denso last forever, okay..at least over 100K-150K before need to be rebuild/replace.
just replace it yourself, there's no trick to it, just loose the pivot bolts and harness, all plug and play

Who said the alternator was bad? Are you sure it's not the battery? And consider calling an alternator shop, see how much it would be to rewind your alternator or otherwise refurbish it. Of course, call a Honda parts department and get a price on a new one (part only, you can do this yourself).
By the way, my wife's uncle lives in West Palm Beach, how bad was the hurricane where you live? And of course, any trouble with butterfly ballots?
