brought my car to the dealership today for diagnosis check. turns out engine has low compression and bent valves on the number 3 and 4 pistons. my question is how hard is it to replace the valves, i have a set of type r valves at my buddie's house that he said he would give me. is this a very difficult fix. thanks for any info, and to those who help me figure out the problem before thanks again.

 

first, which model teg do u have? or motor at least if you know that. judging by ur name id guess u have a gsr...

You need to pull the cylinder head. I would have a machine shop install the valves. If you are planning on upgrading your springs and retainers, you should do that now. It sounds like you had a money shift.

 

actually my buddy miss shifted from 5 to 2 yeah. its a 01 but i got a good warranty on it that should cover it and i just pay the deductible of 100 bucks. do warranties cover teardown of engine? my warranty states that all internal lubricated parts are covered.

 

They may determine that the damage was caused by abuse. The money shift is usually redline in third gear seeking fourth but finding second.
