Mapquest is sending me:

- I-40 East from Raleigh
- I-95 South in Benson
- I-20 West near Florence
- Hwy 521 N in Camden

Looking at the map, US1 through Rockingham and Cheraw looks to be more direct, but maybe that's partly two-lane? The other way I've gone is to follow Willard from his place in Charlotte

Any recommendations? We're not going to be able to leave until around 6pm, so that may play a factor.

yes...rock to cheraw was the route I took when I lived in Rawlee

 

Get up with Ron Spencer. He's got the killer route to CMP. I used to take it, but haven't driven it in over 2 years, so I'd get you lost if I tried to tell you how to go.

 

Interstate takes longer. If you're towing, it is easier. But Ron has the mojo on getting to CMP. Should be able to get there right at 3 hours....

Here's Ron Spencers Directions to CMP.

1S to 177 which is the left at the stop sign by The Rock race track. This takes you towards and thru Hamlet and Ts into 9. Follow the on ramp to the right and will be on 9. Go over the bridge and the light is where 1 intersects 9. Follow 9 to Cheraw and follow the truck route around Cheraw and pick up 1 as the truck route comes to it. Left on 1 (so still heading south).

If you are going straight to the track turn Right onto 341 which is at the light in Bethune. From this direction there is no sign saying its 341 but its the only light in the town. The track is about 25 or so minutes from there (perhaps a bit more, perhaps a bit less).
