ABS!!!!!@!@!???!
Hi,
My ABS light came on and off for about 2 years. but I never really cared about it until i ended up selling the car and I wanted to fix it before i sell it.
So i took it to one of the honda service center and they charged me $88 just for the diagnose and said i need to replace the modulator for $900, and they are not even sure if this is going to fix the problem.
the code is
31-1 LF outlet sol. failure
there were other codes but they didn't came back on after resetting.
the codes were
13-1 LF wheel sensor open or short
17-1 LR wheel sensor open or short
16-1 RR wheel sensor failure
18-1 LR wheel sensor failure
81-1 Abs control failure
they recomended me to replace abs modulator unit first and recheck
Do i really have to spend $1000 or more to fix the ABS?
what does 31-1 LF mean? is this mean the modulator is bad?
help please!!
appreciate any kinda suggests
thanks

What kind of car?
The control solenoid for the left-front wheel would be part of the modulator, I don't think you can get just that solenoid.
Try cleaning & re-seating the electrical connections at the modulator, just in case something's dirty or loose. Probably won't fix it, but it's easy to try. Reset & see if it comes back.
Search around about how to read those error codes yourself. There's a sticky in the Integra forum, but if it's a Prelude the procedure is probably a little different.

Search for procedure to read the ECU error codes. Your 2000 is an OBD-2 car but sometimes there's still a wiring connector that you can jumper to get the CEL to flash (that's the older OBD-1 method). Jumper that with a paper clip & see whether the ABS light flashes it's own code.
Here's the FAQ from the Integra forum; scroll down to the ABS stuff.

But... the codes you list aren't on the Integra list, so I'm not sure where you can go from here. For all my HondAcuras, the codes & detailed procedures are listed in the Helm repair manual. For ABS work, it might be worth it to get that. Or at least try to find it at a library or something.
There's usually a fuse you can pull to reset, but you can disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Then you'll need to reset your clock & radio security code & whatever stuff like that.
