Working on a project, clean and simple outside, and nice and quiet inside plus turbo.
have a 96 LS and planning to go turbo in the future to make up for the weight that will be added when i sound proof my car.
i can do it myself, but its looking like a $150 - 200 project. I know if I do it myself, it would be done right. But, would u guys happend to know a shop that can do this?
im in Southern cali and willing to drive to Irvine - Long Beach and anywhere in between.
Turbo I am looking at is a Rev hard kit my friend is selling for $1300 or I can buy a brand new drag kit for 2400.
anyways, trying to get a luxrious feel for my interior and a clean look outside. Currently have a 98 front end conversion, OEM optional lip, ww sides and custom molded rear lip on the bumper.
But yeah, any shop out there and what is a typical cost for a sound dampening kit? Looking to do the door panels, floor panels and rear trunk.
if i do it myself, i would probably use a 1gallon spray all over the door panels, floor panels and rear truck.
then a layer of dynamat on the floor panels and door panels. I will also re-do my windshield with a new honda windsheild and tell them to put extra tar around the windows to reduce the wind noise i currently have.
I want little to no road noise and was wondering if this can be accomplished.
looking to spend no more then $300 for my sound dampening project. Leanings towards doing it myself.

if put a turbo on it your going to upwards of $500 for engine management and probaly $500 upwards to tune it.
I am looking to make my Integra near silent on the interior also and was looking for suggestions. I was at the local auto parts and saw some spray that is suppose to help but was looking at redoing the inside with DynaMat. Any suggestins?

this is my plan.
http://www.quietcoat.com/html/products.html
buy (2) 1-gallon size liquid sound dampener. then go to home depot and rent a wagner paint sprayer.
spray about 2 thick coats all over, trunk, door and floor board.
cost will be about $100
then, buy a couple rolls of dynamat and put in on top of the sprayed area, mostly on the floor board and door panels.

How much weight is this going to add? And it kinda seems overboard to me... iunno though. I have no expierence in this. But just so you know, once you turbo your car it's gonna get alot quieter.

no more then 8 pounds added.
im not worried about the turbo noise, exhaust noise, those are okay.
but i can hear all the squeaks, road noise, tire noise and wind seeping thru the windsheild. I can barely hear my stereo system.
just trying to rid the road noises. and looking for a more solid ride.
