Problem with starting the car, doesn't click at ON position with key
When i start my car sometimes, everything would be normal until i turn the ignition. The car will start and then stall out like theres no gas. Then i try to start the car again, only this time the fuel pump doesnt make that clicking noise it does when you put the key to ON. Like you can't hear the fuel pump turn on. Then when i try to start the car, it turns, but it doesnt start up. Is this a problem with the fuel or does it have to do with electrical?
well if you don't even hear your fuel pump i'd say that's your obvious problem especially if the car is dieing due to lack of gas. maybe clogged fuel filter but if the pump isn't working it sounds like a bad pump. check the wiring?
i had changed my fuel filter 2 months ago. but the thing is i had just bought this shell with no motor from someone who didnt move the car for about 6 months, and i put my old motor in. would gas deteriorate if not used for a long amount of time? also i had put in half a bottle of regane fuel injection cleaner. could that be causing it too?
