ls motor ?
im thinking about getting an ls motor, have any of u done this swap, what is needed , how much did it cost, and can i just move my stock mounts instead of buying a kit. thanks
i just did my ls swap into my 89 dx hatch..yes you have to buy a mount kit..i got a HCP EF-18X kit for my swap....$300.00-$350.00...thats the best deal i found...but i am sure you can find them cheaper..is your car a si,dx,hf,std what?if is a hf or si all you have to do is changge injector p;ugs and lenght some wires i think..now mine you have to wire the extra injectors in and add wires for the distr..i paid $1190.00 for the ls motor, tranny ecu, motor wiring harness, shift linkage,cv shafts, injector res. box....$300.00 for mount kit..$50.00 for adjustable shift linkage...but you can modify the civic and integra shift linkage to work...
as far as i know it doesnt but i would stick with 90-93 teg..because they are non-obd motors but i am not sure if that matters..i have a 92 and there is suppost to be less vaccum lines to run....anyways keep me posted on your swap..and what model do you have?dx.hf.si.std?????

you dont really need mounts. You can cut and weld. Its alot of trouble and not really worth it unless you do it yourself. You can save around 4-500 as compared to buying Hasport mounts. But the problem with welding is once its done... you cant go back to stock. If you blow your LS with mounts.. you can remove the mounts and bolt back the stock engine. If you weld.. you pretty buch have to fix it of replace with a B-series everytime.
Im in the process right now. b18a longblocks are way cheaper about 300-500 complete, try and get a tranny with it, ive been looking around for one for a while and still cant find one cheap. Oh and for the love of god unless youve welded in mounts before dont do it yourself. Just buy the mounts, if you want to go back to d series you can just sell the mounts.
But keep in mind that you PAY for this easier wiring.......by getting less power. 1990-1991 motors are the runts of the B18A/B18B family at only 130HP, 121ft-lb torque. 1992-1993 motors are better (140HP, 121ft-lb torque). And the 1994-1995 B18B is the best (142HP, 127ft-lb torque). The 1994-1995 motor is also rumored to respond best to mods. Just keep in mind that performance WILL suffer somewhat if you try to run later motors on 1990-1991 electronics.

im in the middle of doing my swap right now... here are the stats
-95LS egine w/o flywheel 550shipped 35k mi
-GSR flywheel from parts trader $45
-Organic stage 1 clutch from Exedy $300
-Tranny,Ecu,starter,alternator from yard $580
-Distrib from checker auto $119
-Mounts and linkage from R&R performance $400 (with core exchange)
-Timing belt -$55 acura
-Axles from Auto zone $140 pair...Exchange your old civic ones
-Im not getting a speedo cable.
-Fluids, belts, hoses (guessing) $100
-money spent on shipping (most was 2 day) $80
So my total is at 2069...and Im not sure thats all im gonna need...Some guys are saying I need to swap the engine brackets from an 90-93 integra also..so...
when someone says "complete" its really not ever complete...have at least $2000 in hand before starting any swap, thats my advice.

Im using a 90-91 teg ecu
reusing my si injectors
bought a 90-91 distrib.
I dont know what a resistor box is...
using a 90-93 alternator
axles from a 90-91 teg
tranny from a 90-93 teg
88-91 si or 90-91 teg harness

I would guess he is using the resistor box from his Si. It is the little silver box with heat sinks mounted at the the back of the engine compartment. It is on the driver's side. HTH
Hey man, thanks. Now i've got my shopping list. Have you finished the wiring? Is it lengthen this, lengthen that and plug everything in?

I havent lengthened anything yet, I know the 95LS intake manifold has an extra sensor on it, that is a vaccum line on my si..soooo....We'll see how that works out. Ive hooked up the fuel rail and by that it looks like ill have to lengthen some wires to the back of the engine...when you get your tranny make sure you know if its a 90-91 or a 92-93 (25mm and 26mm splines, respectivly).

Extra sensor??? Everything on mine plugged right into the CRX harness. Are you thinking of the black solenoid that is attached to the manifold with the vacuum line attached??
As for lengthening I just had to stretch the thermostat wires and the MAP sensor wires. B18Bs are so easy.

i put a b18a1 into my 89 civic... you just need the complete swap, and you'll have to modify your shift linkage. and i bought a hasport motor mount kit for $340 and i worked great.
