hey guys, as you know i've banged up my car and i've already started fixing it, but i think i screwed up. I squished my radiator support in my accident, so i bought a new one.

Here's the damage.

This is what i just bought.

i already have a hood and all that other crap on standby but the radiator core support is the most important thing. IS THAT WELDED TO THE CAR?? OR can i just unbolt it and replace it like i'm hoping i can which would make it alot less stressful and easier on me AND my finances.

and if it is WELDED to the dam car then how much is it gonna cost me to have someone UN-weld it and replace it with my new one.

theres a buch of spot welds. drill em out.

look for a how-to for a jdm integra front install, and they'll show you how.

jsut look at the spot welds, match a dril bit to the spot weld, need to be as big or just a tiny bit bigger than the psot weld, then go at it.

Yeah it's not hard to do at all. I did it one my car when I purchased it, before I found Honda-tech. It can easily be done especially w/ a write-up.

Ok so i just can drill them out, now will the radiator support have enough bolts and stuff to hold it on after i replace it???

cause i know the stock steel bumper is pretty heavy, and so far i've only seen 2 bolts up top but i didnt' look very hard.

just got them with it already on, all the holes drilled that need to have spot welded and just tell them "i need each hole you see spot welded, that is all"

shouldnt cost much.. or just go buy or rent a welder.

well my neighbor can weld but i don't trust him, he tends to do stuff fast and sloppily sometimes, and he owe's me for the buisness i've gotten him so he said he'd do that **** for free but i have a feeling he'd like cut something in half with the welder or something. i dunno, i'll look into it tomorrow see whats up. I dont know anything about welding or spot welding so i wouldn't know what to do, and drilling holes.......sorry but you lost me......

i got quoted $125 by a good body shop around my area to R&R my radiator support. I think the pricing was on the high side.

EDIT: You need to make sure your frame rails are straight though.

I think with the average shop rate of 80/hr thats a pretty damn good quote considering they are saying it will only take a hour and a half

You can always rivet the bastard if you're seriously pinching pennies. It won't be *as* rigid, but it might be strong enough that you don't notice.
