type R swap
i have a 98gsr, and just bought a 98spec type R motor from hmotorsonline.com....is that swap as easy as it should be? and are there anyother swaps i should do or anything needed to be removed or changed to work properly?
Install the motor, axles etc...
Use your USDM GSR wiring harness.
Dont plug in: CKF plug on oil pump, VTEC Oil Pressure plug, IAB plug.
Plug in P73 ITR ECU
Start car
Good Luck it is a very easy swap.

when you bought the gsr, did it come with an engine? [quote]
looking in his sig. he has intake and header so i am assuming he has a motor in his car.
why are you going to do a gsr to type r swap?? Drop in some cams for your gsr and you would be fine unless the gsr motor is toast..
But should be a easy swap.

There is more to the 98 JDM ITR than Just Cams:
Throttle Body
Intake manifold
LSD 4.7 tranny
4-1 JDM Header
Polished Cylinder Ports
Valve Springs
Higher Compression
Engine extra engine brace on the tranny/engine
ECU

why would it be bad to install the wirring harness that comes with the new ITR? also will the DC sport header i have on my GSR motor right now bolt onto the itr?
yes the stock gsr motor, bouht it with 80,000 miles, now it has 107,000 miles and is starting to burn oil. was thinkin of a rebuild but always wanted the itr. other than that oil burnin it runs fine and strong... while i had it i put a dc header, aem intake, and centerforce clutch.
i am going to bolt on the DC sport header onto the itr, that will work wont it? also the dualfriction centerforce clutch i have right now will work with the itr motor correct? also the stock axels will be fine correct? as you can see i have never dont this before....the only sawp i have done is a rotary egine in a rx7...so any info or other problems i may have that you know of would be a great help...
