blower motor-1993 honda accord ex
blower motor failed
had new motor installed
now have no air circulation - defrost etc.
mechanic says vent system must be blocked (was not prior to motor failure)
mechanic wants to remove dash and clean vent system
big job! big dollars!

#1 is the new fan running?
#2 if it worked good before the fan took a crap the person that put it in may not have put it back together right. This is the one where you have to take the blower box out to replace the fan.
Baisically the mechanic that replaced it probably messed up. So make them fix it (free) and don't bothor cleaning the vents. They are trying to take you for a ride.
What I would do is take it to someone that knows what they are doing since this person obviousally doesn't.
Be sure to cuss them profusely.

If only the Blower Case was removed, he most likely forgot to plug back in #9 in illustration 3, or jammed up the doors it controls. If the system doesn't change modes IE: Vents/Vents-Floor/Floor/Floor-Defrost/Defrost, then look for a problem with #5 in illustration 2
