Default Sparco 3" harness, 2" wide bracket? Fit or not fit?

The harnesses are 3" wide however the brackets that were provided have an opening for 2"

I will let the pictures do the talking. Sparco only makes one mounting kit which tells me its okay to kink the loop? Advice please...

I know 3" brackets exist because I have some. I wouldn't do it if it were supposed to save MY ***.

I forgot to add, the only PN that exists on http://www.sparcousa.com is 049101. Based off that, my guess would also be that maybe they superceded and started to use the smaller width.....cause its okay?

What you have is correct. You need to fold both sides of the webbing over to feed it thru. See diagram #2 here for an example... http://www.gforce.com/pdf/harnessinstall.pdf

I have seen that done, but if it would make you feel more comfortable (it sure would make me feel better), try something like this: http://www.pegasusautoracing.c...=2999

Interesting...I have 3" too. Funny, we have the same cage builder/harness installer

I wonder if he got separate pieces. I bought the harnesses myself, but didn't look at the pieces before I gave them to Jude.

That 2" bracket "looks" stronger than the 3" pegasus one.

Shrug.

the 2" is correct. The way to loop it in is to fold both edges. This way it strengthen the webbing and prevent tears.
