absolutely clueless
I just acquired a 95 honda accord v-tech, so far i have a regular intake, not stock, an a full greddy exaust system from the cat back, since ill have this car for awhile i figured i would throw some sick stuff in it while i can, but i have no f'in clue what to do, i never dealt with a honda. I use to just work on VW'S an Audi's, big difference, just wonderin if anybody has any suggestions what my next step should be. Im looking to eventually get a turbo but what steps for this honda do i take first? Plus i have eibach springs that still have to go in.
Well first you have ask yourself what is your goal. Are you looking for power, suspension upgrade, cosmetic. You say you eventually want to boost it so I say go for it. Next what is your budget for these mods. Trust me it easy to get ahead of yourself sometimes...
<sighs>
i think it should be manditory that pple search b4 they post. so many questions could be answered.. so much time could be saved.
5th gen accords werent made to be fast. they were made to be a sweet economy car that was comfy,got good mileage and haul kids around. the f22 thats in it, vtec or no, isnt fast, even w/the 5 spd. it doesnt respond well to simple bolt ons (I,H,E ect) as well as other engines either.
its compression ratio , however, is ideal for boost and its a fairly tough engine that can withstand abuse, within reason of course.
so unless your gonna slap a turbo or hit it w/some nitrous or do some serious frankenstein work.. it wont ever be a "fast" car.
it will, however, handle very well and responds great to suspension upgrades which will equal to a fun car to drive round corners.
maybe that'll help a bit.

Yea, there's not much of a difference between Audi, VW and Honda. They are all internal combustion engines right?
I'll just tell you now, if youre expecting 12 sec quarter miles, get a different car...
