Premature distributor wear and failure
I had a SIR2 motor swap done in Spring of '04. At that time, I had them put on a new Honda cap & rotor, water pump/timing belt, NGK spark plugs/wires, radiator and tune it up. By January, the distributor started making a screeching sound accompanied by some clicking. I took it to my shop and had them replace it with a good used distributor. Its been 10 months or so, and the thing just started screeching/clicking today.
My questions are: Is it common for these distributors to have such a short life span? Am I not doing some sort of maintanance thing? Is there a distributor (GSR, ITR, etc..) that is more durable? Thanks!

You get what you pay for.

I should probably have said rebuilt distributor. It was not new, it was rebuilt/used.
