Default how do you reset the ecu without clearing the radio too?

ok, I want to know how to clear the codes from the ecu without pulling the backup fuse or removing the neg battery cable. I hate having to reprogram my radio.

thanks for any help.

edit:
if it makes a difference, it's a 99 ex.

OBD scan tool would be my first guess.

with a 99 you can do it with the scan tool (most parts stores will do it for you for free) or remove the ECU from the harness.

There is an ecu fuse but I belive it also powers the radio backup, your best bet is to unplug it or get the obd2 tool and clear it.

yeah the backup fuse is labeled "backup radio fuse" or something similar. I don't have a scanner tool, and don't want to drive to a place to have them do it each time. so I guess I'll just unplug the ecu from the harness.

This is what I always do. Just unplug the green plug from the ECU behind the passenger kick panel. Works just like unplugging the battery cable.
