ok i got the car on sunday and i see the civic dx with a SI bottom and a DX head!!?? WTF and the whole gauge cluster dont work bside the heat n the gas!!!! it still have the dx top mount throttle body and it still cuts off at 3000rpm... i juss check the ecu and is flashing code 16!!!!! how can i fix this now??i want to finish the swap to si head and i have all the engine parts 4 it but code 16??!!i believe the injector is not firing the second 2 injetor!!!help

 

when u did the mpfi did u change to a si distributer?

 

that sounds like what i did to my dx, i thought i could just plug in an si ecu, well i was wrong, and it did the same exact thing.

 

i think it still have the mpfi head on it!!!!!

 

It sounds like what my DX did when the distributor was giving up the ghost. I had a code 8 for mine. You should be able to pick up a DX distributor for $50 or so.

wtf is wrong with MPFI?????' we all got MPFI, what do you want to swap in??? a dual point injection??? a set of 4 carbs???, hummmmmmm, better get some clear information before you started that job!!' personnaly I think he got the dpfi and an si ecu. that why an injector dosn't click, well he probably got 2 injector that dosn't click but hey thats a detail now!' so, look at the job you did and get up on us with precise info.

ok ok people i got sum more info for my civic!!!! now i know i have a complete si engine except the intake manifold!!!! so it is a top thorttle boby kind u know but everything else is a si D16.... anyway i got an si gauge cluster and it cuts off at 3500rpm and the car just stop and jump like it was redline!!!btw i got code 16!!!!!

 

ok got it fix....it was the injector!!!!!
