Honda Challenge for 2006
First, let me congratulate all the champion of 2005.
Now get on to business.
Since the season officially ended over the weekend (SoCal). I would like to see more competitors for Honda Challenge in 2006. 2004 was a blast, with lots of competitors and some tight competition for H1 and H4. In 2005 H4 is as competitive as ever, but H1 was all but dissapear especially in SoCal.
I'm definitely will continue to race in Honda Challenge H1. I made friends and love the competition provided. The racers proved to be of quality. This year I learned a lot and decided that I will concentrate my effort in NorCal region, unless things change and we get more competitors in SoCal.
Any old timer that been training lifting beers instead of steering wheel interested in coming back? hint: Hope, Dennis and Sam
Maybe Bernardo can take some time off from his time attack tries, and concentrate in real racing?
Maybe McNulty will have the guts and build his DC2 to H1 spec? Who need two H4 cars???
Maybe Bota will come out from his bench racing days and actually join us at the track?
Maybe Matt has settled enough in the west coast and finally brave enough to try in west coast jungle?
Any H4 competitors that think they have what it takes to handle fast cars? It is only an engine swap away.....
Any new competitors want to duke it out with Prima Racing in H1? Don't tell me you all are scared.
All of you, let's not forget how much fun we had in 2004 and 2005. Let's make this even funner in 2006!

Forgot to mention Ellseworth, build an H1 car already!
BTW, if anyone want to try H1, we have 1 car for sale to make room for a new car. Not cheap, but only the best.

Maybe I will be out there late 2006, I'm going to try my hardest to get the car done and have it properly prepared. I can only do so much and I can't predict the future progress of the car. I'm plugging away slowely but surely.

Matt is busy parting the car out, but will be looking to rent rides in the future.

if anyone has a H4 car for sale, let me know. EF chassis preferred and welded cage at minimum. i may be interested for 2006. emphasis on on "may"
may (mā)
aux.v., Past tense might (mīt).
1. To be allowed or permitted to: May I take a swim? Yes, you may.
2. Used to indicate a certain measure of likelihood or possibility: It may rain this afternoon.

I was wondering if any of the H4 EG drivers could post some cage pics? particularly of the rear section and if you have your front bars going through the dash.
I know there are certain bars that are required, but I am curious about how people are actually constructing their cages

And is 2-4 seconds a lap really that much of a neck snapping difference?
Sorry I had to get this obligatory H1 bashing out of my system(even though I really wish I could afford to drive one

Well, if you just want to do Sunday driving...
To drive fast, you actually have to brake less

Didn't I post a fastest lap time in H4 delsol with only limited seat time and setup not optimal for me?

Yes, but your driver skill was not my point. My point was: is the experience of 2:05 different than a 2:02? What is my motivation to race H1 when I will be in essense just racing the same car with 60-80 more hp? Will the racing get "better"? Or will I just accelerate a little faster and have to brake a little more?
I am not actually ******* you, I am asking you to convince me to run H1. I have wanted to for along time, but could never justify the added expense. Please Justify it for me so I can build my carbon-bling-swap-jdm mobile.

Chris,
I don't feel like you're ******* me at all. I know we all in the good spirit.
Will the racing get better? It might. There are no question that controlling a faster car is harder than slower car. And when we have some competition, even if it is only three or four entrance, most of the time they are very close in skill. I'm talking quality, not quantity.
That's not saying H4 drivers have no quality, on the contrary, most of them are really good. I'm just saying it might hone your skill further to drive faster car.
I know when I drive the NSX race car it is always humbling. Especially driving them in pouring rain. Those 400whp felt like it is 600!
If all else fail, you'll have at least a carbon-bling-swap-jdm-mobile to show off

$$$ required is definetely a huge difference.
i don't think driving style needed for H1 is much different than H4. i think any competitive H4 drivers can hop in H1 car and adjust very quickly.
Andrie, you want something that's fun, challenging to drive, try a few Spec Miata races next year.
