The GS-R and ITR mufflers are pretty different. While they are both chambered mufflers, the ITR has refinements like larger chambers with rolled edges to increase flow. I used to have a pic of it a long time ago. According to Honda the ITR exhaust flows 30% better than base model Integra exhausts.

This diagram show the difference. The diameter of the B-pipe and the muffler is 57.2mm (2.25") mandrel bent piping [an increase of +6.4mm~8.6mm over stock].

Thanks for the replies.. Im going for the sleeper/ none expensive exhaust route.. Im a big fan of the rsr but 600 is not wat im lookign to spend.. so i wetn witht he 2.25 pipin w/o resonator.. and planning on slapping on the itr muffler for the better flow and nice g35 sound.. or whatever you can relate the sound to.

anyone know if the bosal brand 97 itr muffler is the way to go..? what other alternatives do people recommend..

thanks

Hey man...Vibrant makes a stock looking flat black muffler in 2 1/4, 2 1/2, and 3 inch. Looks pretty cool and sleeperish. http://www.vibrantperformance.com

600, where are you looking? Check out MVP motorsports. I got the link from rsr, and their ex mag system was only 487, plus shipping.

The only reason why it sounds uber quiet is because of the oem resonator, restrictive piping and chambered muffler.

That should be obvious.

Alternative only if you're going the F/I route:
exhaust cutout
I have a 3" e-cutout and when closed gets redirected to a stock itr cat (well test pipe) back.
