Default Coolant Leak - 1992 Accord EX 4dr Auto

I just replaced my coolant for the winter. I used Dexcool, if it matters.

Prior to replacement, I had no loss of coolant. All was fine. But now, (and it may not
be related), I get a slow, constant drip just by gasket for the oil pan, by the main pulley for the alt belt.. I suspect this is where the water pump resides ?

If so, is the water pump a major pain-in-the-donkey to replace/repair ?

you have to remove the timing belt to replace the water pump . 90 and newer water pump is driven by the timing belt, if it is pre 90 you can replace water pump without removing timing belt, pump is on the outside of timing belt cover,

aarrggh.. that's compact engineering for ya. I'll re-check for loose hoses first.. I'm not up for a major dis-assembly just to reset/reseal a water pump gasket. Maybe I'll just strap on a catch bucket and it can swing freely underneath until its near full, empty back into rad, start over.

YUP, a Perfect chance to use that "Air Hook" you got for last Christmas. And just think, with the coolant you recover, you can make that bucket of steam you always wanted.

For GOD's sake ......... just fix it.
The way things work, you'll be out in East Bumf...k somewhere when the ^%$*& thing goes. Besides, this will give you the chance to replace that long overdue Timing belt at the same time.

Hey, What an Opportunity !!

Nah, It's more fun sitting back for the inevitable return post. You know, the one where the coolant soaked timing belt finally gave up the ghost.

heck i would construct a motorized pipe so i could recycle the coolant that leaks back in the radiator ,that way i would not have to stop,, and fill the radiator from time to time..Man i could just sit back relax listen to the radio mm nmm
