Very nice S2000, I've liked them since they came out but never really payed much attention to them. Well I was hit by a driver a week ago and it was her fault, and the way the DC2 is looking right now it will probably be totalled out. So i've started my search for a new car and ran across a few S2000's. Being 20 and still in school I don't think I could afford a brand new 2006 S2k, so I've looked into a few 2000's. But to make a long story short I took one out on a test drive this past friday and freakin loved it! Best car i've ever driven and i've driven a good bit of cars including a 350whp DC2!
Well I don't think it was more fun then the 650hp teg, but it was damn fun!
Just out of curiousity how much do some of you pay for your AP a month? They had me set at $390/mo. for a 2001 and the car was $21,090 w/53k mi.
And as for your new screenname it should be DC_2_AP2

thats way too high for a 01 with hi miles. You should be able to get a 02-03 with 35-40k miles for that price if not cheaper. A guy here just got a 02 for under 19k and it had 30k miles i think. Just keep an eye out. Winter is coming people like to sell verts now.
cool, for some reason it's always scary to say how much you paid for a car because you always get the ones that say you got jacked., however, on this one i thought i was pretty safe. I pay $450 a month for mine, so $390 doesnt seem bad at all.
so far i have;

DC_2_AP2

LOL!!!!
LOL!!!!
thanks! I actually really like my wheels, that's one thing that I liked about it since I started looking at them... but we'll see. The drop will happen after the winter, I'm in Colorado and it gets pretty bad over here.
What do you guys recommend for springs or coilovers for this car? I'm looking at lowering it like 2"

I'm also in the Rockies and the winters suck (for driving). I'd recommend getting a beater. I bought a POS to get me through the winter. I'll still take out the S on nice days.
I like the AP2 wheels, also. A local member around me powdercoated them graphite (a shade darker than the ITR gunmetal wheels) and they came out really good. He's got the exact same color combo as you, also. If I had Ap2 wheels, that's what I'd do. (Plus, brake dust won't show as much.

Very nice...one thing i have to ask though, as ive been seeing it quite often lately...newbies get S2000's and their first comment is "Well, its not as fast as my "x" but..." And i have to ask...how is it not as fast? Acceleration? (was your previous car a consistant 13sec. 1/4 car with 0-60 easily in the 5's?) Corners? (how much experience do you have with rear wheel drive cars?) and lastly, top speed? (have you ever taken your previous car over 140mph? The S2000 can do it...easily).
I just figured id pose those questions, nothing against the thread starter or anyone who had made the comment im questioning, im seriously curious...

Yea man, that brake dust drives me nuts, especially on a white car. I get these little trails on the fenders...

my integra was a high 13 second car. didnt corner as well as the s2000 but it was better on acceleration.

You should've seen my CW ITR wheels with Axxis Ultimates. Looked like I was running ricer steelies up front after two weeks.
