92 accord fuel problems
I have a '92 accord dx and I am trying to isolate the problem with my fuel system. I have already chaecked the main relay and it checks out fine. Also when checking the ecu trouble codes is it a failure when the check engine light just stays on when the connector is jumped or not? any help would be great.

for once i have to agree with you

If the cel stays on contiuously no matter what. Service connector jumped or not jumped, unfortunatly can mean your computer is out. What are the symptoms, what is the car doing, or not doing.
the problem is that i am not getting any fuel up to the injectors. it seems to have good spark, timing is on and the main relay seems to be ok. I have never had to get the codes from the ecu before (unsure of exactly how to read them) and it seems to be a big pain to drop the fuel tank to get to the fuel pump if the problem is else where.
i pulled it apart and looked at the solder joints as well as tested it using a bench power supply and a ohm meter and a chart that i was given as to the terminals to check for continuity when the relay was energized

try resoldering all points on the relay. I had this problem with a 92 Prelude. The relay checked out ok with a multimeter but I went ahead and resoldered it. Worked like a charm.
If you have a helms manual I believe it will tell you in there. I'm at work otherwise I would tell you myself. I know in the 5th gen you can access the fuel pump through the trunk... not sure on the 4th but it's worth giving a look.
nope, no access from the trunk already looked there, you can get to the fuel level sending unit but not the pump unfortunately. does the ecu control the fuel pump or is it strictly controlled by the main relay?

pump gets power from main relay... at the same place where you can access the sending unit wires there is also where u test the fuel pump at......there should be a plug with 2 wires yellow and black,, put key on the yellow should have power, black is ground,, if u have both fuel pump is no good, or u could have a totally plugged up fuel filter...

you only need to drop the tank if you want to replace the fuel pump, you can easily test it from inside trunk, remove the lid for the fuel sending unit and the wiring for the pump should be right there
Vt4cPwn35........you were right the main relay tested fine on the bench but in the car no power was going out to the fuel pump. thanks for the great advice.

turns out that when i re-soldered the relay that it worked perfectly but it turns out the fuel pump had gone out as well. could the fuel pump going out have caused the relay to have problems as well? Just curious as to the root of the problems is all.

I know the ecu controls the injectors but as for the pump?!?!?!
