Car will crank but won't stay on.
A few things I have done so far:
*replaced throttle body with another t/b that is known to be in excellent running condition. old t/b had a cracked tps. new one has a factory untampered tps.
*replaced the distributor with known good one.
*all grounds are connected.
*all harness plugs are plugged in and fuel line is attached.
*pulled the spark plugs and it is getting gas.
*The only thing not attached is the fan switch plug and the IAT which shouldn't prevent the car from running and idling.
I can't get the motor running long enough to adjust the timing.
How can you tell if the motor was assembled 'off'? Meaning the crank wasn't at TDC when the head was? Thats the only thing that I can think off that will prevent this thing from running. ALSO, I get no CEL.
Motor has all fluids topped off.
thanks

Check your timing on the belt to see if engine was assembled correctly. You should be able to line the cam gears (up) and there are 2 lines on them, then you should see a line on the plastic of the timing belt cover, and you should see 4 lines on the crank. 3 together, 1 by itself. That line on the belt cover should meet up with the single line on the crank pully, and the cam gears lines should meet up and the cams sould be facing up.
