Default Honda Accord V4 05 - Short Ram Intake

Hello everyone, I am new here and didnt know where to post this but here it is.

I just bought a new Honda accord v4 05 I pop the hood and i see its a bit "strange" where the intake is verticle with a plastic cover. My question is.... Is it possable to install a short ram intake on this model. I searched on-line and i found one or to brands that sell it..... Drangon R and AEM Does anyone else have an v4 05 accord that has installed a short ram intake. If so what would be the best choices. Thank you.

It is not a V4.. but a L4... cylinders are in line!

Ok, going to the point, yes... you could get the aem or whatever you want.... but if you find a short ram intake for 4cl accord 2005 at ebaymotors, that would do the same thing a aem intake would do.
What i'm saying is.... search for whatever suits you best.... but buying from big brands... you would be paying a lot more for a sticker placed on the item!

Just get a cheap intake from ebay and put a good quality filter, like K&N, on it, and you'll save yourself like a hundred bucks and get the same result.

Yeah, or do what I did, wait for someone to throw out some intake piping and get a filter and throw it on the end of it. It worked for me.

Ok, so i just opened my hood again after looking at a few pics and i see were the short ram intake would plug into.... However right now there is a hose that goes from the engine to a big black box looking thingy.....then the "verticle pipe" i mentioned earlier connects into that......

Thanks for your replys got a few more qustions...

1. Would i have to remove that big black box thingy?....

2. In doing this upgrade, will i void any type of warrenty?.... I have full coverage bumper to bumper.

3. When i do buy a short ram intake. Are there certain things i should make sure it has?

4. I know its hard to say but how much more horse power will this mod do for me?

As you can tell, im not to smart when it comes to stuff under the hood and I would go to a garage and let them hook up the SRI.

1. yes you will have to remove the black box thingy

2. it might void your warranty, not neccesarily, but more often then not it will

3. gains from a SRI will probably bee about 1-3 horseppower

I thought you couldnt put an intake on a 05 cylinder due to a MAF sensor on the factory intake. What is the deal with this? Ive seen intakes for sale, but they specify for the model car without the MAF sensor. I wanted an intake but figured i couldnt have one on my car

All a waste of money IMO. Unless you enjoy changing the oil in your air filter. Oh and it's an I4 not v4.

dont get an SRI. you would be better off getting a CAI and putting a K&N cone intake on the end.

Any particular reason why? So you can gain the extra 1 hp that will never make it to the wheels?
