Tons of fun @ the Meadowlands in NJ
Guys,
It was fun meeting up with you guys at the autocross. I think we had about 10 or so ITR's? Too bad is was COLD, BRUTALLY COLD !! I don't know when the times will be posted. I'll check the website later on.
Check my website http://www.autocrossnyc.com for pics and a write up. And, stupid me, there are no pics of ITR's

Ohhh Yeahhh,
Yesterday was truely awesome. Every time I go to a new event I have so much fun. I just wish they posted all of the times, I wonder if any of my practice laps with the instructor were faster than my sluggish fastest timed 44.430? Ahh well practice is the key to improvement and consistancy, I'm comitted to run as many times as I can this year!
I can't wait!!!
The NASA event IS soo much better than the ones I participated in last year. I certainly will be there as many times as I can.
Great day had by all. I'm curious what all the ITR's ran that day. Most of the guys I spoke to either didn't hear their times or didn't know when to see/listen for them. And yes, boy was it F***in COLD!!!
My special thanks to: NASA, Chris, J, Rob"even without his R he supported us dilligently," You/Dave, Matt, Howard my instructor, and Sandra for putting up with this craziness and videoing everything, "wy wife was working in a warm store all day!"
NASA at the Meadowlands
It's fun to drift at 40 to 50 MPH then push the throttle and snap into line and then tear into 3rd. 3rd? just how friggen fast were we goin?
Anton
PS Next time we have to organize all the R's and keep it all one big group in the paddock. Then we can assist eachother and share advice.
PPS Chris has video of all of our runs, and yours too, I'm sure you'd love to see them...

I had a blast!!!
I think I'm hooked
If you didn't see me, I was the black 330i that span out twice.
Its ok, all in good fun.
I have a few pics, I don't want to post them yet, because I forgot to edit people's license plates.
Too bad I couldn't stay for the timed session.
Here's one of me struggling, El Pollo (Matt) giving directions:

I think I may have had a 41, but I am not sure. It was a little difficult to do fast times since I wasn't able to walk the course. Thank God, the course was pretty simple. I can't wait to see the videos.
definitely had a blast yesterday... only if the wind wasn't blowing so hard...it would have been much better......
first run was 46.xx, so i figured i'm gonna try something different so 2nd run i got a 47.xx that didn't work.....3rd run tried something else different and got a 44.xx, which i was pretty happy....now next goal is going for those 40.xx - 41.xx sec times
watch out cause here i come......hahahahaa
i agree....cause i definitely needed some advise from everyone
maybe we can a bbq next time

Definitely we should organize better next time. BBQ is not possible (fire and racing fuels are a no-no). But, hanging out is cool, just bring sandwiches and stuff. March 23 and 30 there are autocrosses in Englishtown.
I am glad more people are using the ITR for what is was designed for. Autocross is very addictive....but track events are even more so ! ( register for the EXPO )

I personally had a great time yesterday. Learned a few things about the ITR (damn RE-010s suck *** when the weather is cold
) and had a blast meeting all some of the ITR owners (didn't meet them all).
I'm planning to attend every NASA-X event in the quest for lower times. I know I only heard my first run in the second heat which was like 43.xx? I can't wait to see the times posted to see if the little adjustments I made on the second run made a difference or not (since I totally scrubbed the third and last run
).
Mental Note: Bring food/drink/more cigarettes to the next event. Hehehe. If the paddock idea goes through, I'll be bringing my digital camera.

I had a great time! Everyone seemed cool, but it was too cold to stand around and chat. I learned so much for my first Auto/NASA-X I got a total of 12 runs 2 at half speed. I got to know my R personally, and finally got the hang of it, but it's ashame It was durring the fun runs at the end of the day. My whole problem is I found myself drag racing through the course when I should've been at a steady smooth pace. I guess the most important thing I learned is on a steap turn you can't give the R gas and turn at the same time, You have to do one or the other, and as soon as you're straitening through that turn the R will take all the gas you can give her. I had lots of fun hope to see you guys at the next NASA event.
Pardon me Dave, I hope you don't mind me askin how many people would be interested in doin it AGAIN this coming Sunday 17th? It will be a BMW club event and at the same location, "not sure which lot?" I know one guy who will go with me already, we were already planning over dinner last night after we left.
I'm glad everyone had som much fun and I hope to see all of you soon.
For those who've done it before, you know the addiction!
For the ones who did it for the first time, NOW you can really appreciate the ITR for what it really IS, a course car Not a stoplight racer...

I may have a conflict next Sunday afternoon. I want to check out the Porsche Club's autocross on the Island. Mainly a friend with a Miata is doing it and I want to see his setup. But, if he doesn't show, I can at least stop by the M-club in the Meadowlands.
good to see everyone had a good time. i'm going to try to make it to the next event.....my tires were shipped today.
can someone post the websites that have schedules of events? i know of autocross4you, nasa, nybmwcca. what's the site for the porsche club? i think they just held there first event @ tobay beach.

i'm planning to attend the mclub event next sunday. i was in nyc the night before and didn't get home until 3.30 so i spent the whole event trying to sleep; next time i will be more mentally prepared. the 2 times i heard were 41.9 and 41.4 (both with 1 cone). i switched back to my dunlop 5000 all seasons after the practice laps because the kumhos were so bad in the cold.
Results are posted.....I finished DEAD last. Why? Off course. I don't think I went off course on my one clean run, but oh well. I think if I stayed on course I would of finished around 5th or something? It was definitely fun to be able to practice for the upcoming SCCA events. Glad everyone was able to show.

I guess the 43.xx time I heard was for the guy in front me
Oh well! I think I did ok for my first time out at an autocross! Can't complain with being 13th.
Hopefully the next event ... the weather will be a bit warmer.

I actually did better than I thought but, still not as good as I want to be. Rodney was the MAN that day! Fastest time and fastest PAX! Wow that is an accomplishment,
to Rodney!!!
What a day it was, I can't wait till next time. I just wish though that they listed the Type-R's as such, I only remember 2 other Tegs, Marks and that tall kid with the black LS.
Practice, practice, practice,,, H'mmmmm. Geez this is one thing I just love to practice.
A.
PS Dave, now you got me curious, I don't remember you going off course, I'll look at the video tonight.

His goal of bitchslapping all the BMWs/Porsches was accomplished alright. Hehehe.
PAX? What PAX?!
huhu...Rodney did very well, ofcourse we'll have to bump him up a class, that car does not belong in E. We'll tweak the points some.
As always, if you guys have any questions or comments, dont hesitate to email me.
I'm glad you guys had fun, even with that brutal wind. The NASA events should only get better as time goes on.
Hopefully I'll see all of you guys at the next one.

It was definetively a great event despite the HORRIBLE weather.
Wish I could have driven my Type R too to compare it against the M in the same course. Definetively the Type R would have been the safer car given the low traction conditions.
Just curious about how many mods does the Red Civic Type R have? 38.7! that's a fast piece of machinery! I just hope they don't bump you all the way up to C. Otherwise I will have to start looking for R-Compound rubber for the M.
See you next Sunday

has a few more mods in mind, then for sure it'll be in C. so, you might want to start scouting around for some spare wheels carlos...seriously though, i thought you were gonna beat me, you were railing out there. i was hanging on your every time...so when can i drive the m3?
see you next time.
