Default help with wiring h23a vtec into 93 accord

I have put a 97 h22a1 vtec head onto a 93 h23a1 block and swapped it into my 93 accord. It runs but not like it should. I'm looking for someone who knows more about wiring, or knows of a web site where I can find what ecu, wiring harness that I need to get. I need to know what needs to be done for the motor to run right, and for the vtec to work

it should run with the h23 wiring harness, and even with the h23 ecu. but you should really look into tuning that frankenstein motor. It might be that your ecu is in limp mode, since its going like "wtf, this head is not mine"
now, hopefully you made vtec work, if not, then there was absolutely no point in swapping the h22 head in there.

well, tell us what exactly you did besides just swap the head on there. Are you using the stock ecu, harness, and all that good ****. give us more info on the setup.

It won't run properly with the h23 harness or ecu. There is a big difference in the 2 heads. The major one being VTec. The h23 ecu has no idea what VTec is and the Harness doesn't have a specific wire/set of wires to run VTec.

sees no vtec solenoid, vtec pressure...you need to wire that and the check engine light should shut off and you should have vtec. what ecu are your running?

With any frankenstein:

the harness/ecu should match the head if going from non-vtec to vtec.... factory harness/ecu can remain when going from vtec to non-vtec

For best results with the swap, get the ecu chipped and run something like Crome or Uberdata

yeah that would be best, but if keepin a non vtec harness you can run two wires from the ecu to the solenoid and pressure sensor..and get a p28 or something chipped and tuned on uberdata or crome

yeah, we still dont know what harness he used, but since he asked the question, im assuming the h23, or even the f22 harness, which is very stupid.

but even still, he should be able to run with the h23 harness and ecu, just not properly. He could go out and find an H23vtec harness and ecu, but its VERY unlikely that he'll find one.

but yea, just get an h22 harness, get any chippable ecu and tune with ubderdata. wire the vtec if you havent either.

tune that bitch with uberdata foo!

yeah it should run fine on a non vtec ecu, well atleast idle good dont expect it to perform anything great tho...yeah assuming from what he asked, he must be using a non vtec harness..

Crome actually tends to be much more user friendly than UD

eh, too much. especially if he's not gona do anything else to the motor.

just my opinion, im a DIY tuning enthusiast, hence, i dont like hondata, but aem is an exception when it comes to big hp cars.

Still has a lot of bugs to be worked out. Since the KPro has sort of taken all of Hondata's time lately... the S300's been slow to improve.

the setup that I have is a 93 prelude h23a1 dohc non vtec bottom end, with a 97 h22a1 dohc vtec head in a 93 accord right now im using the f22 sohc wiring harness to run the car. I have fully build the motor for the turbo that is on it. Im not a wiring person so I was wondering which ecu and wiring harness I should use seeing the the car and the bottom end are obd1 and the head is obd2. I have been told that the 97 vtec ecu will not work because of the immoblizer in the ecu. I have been told that some 96 obd2 vtec ecu come with out the immoblizer and that I should use the f22 harness and run the 5 or 6 wires need. I have also been told I need to put a knock sensor in the block for the vtec to work, so any info you have would be nice. thanks joe
