Where is it best to purchase this item from. Dealer, autozone, pep boys, ebay. I know the dealer always cost more but I know alot of Honda OEM parts are best. Is this one were price at as non dealer place triumphs over dealer.
1 non factory that i have used with great success on master and slave cyl is made by ADLER ,,, we get it here from BAP imports , they are cheaper than factory and as good ...I would not use anything from Autozone except maybe an occasional air filter ,

when i did a search alot of guys was referring people to autozone for these parts but i am not a big fan of getting parts from them. for quailty i would prefer to suck it up and deal with the price for oem parts. i am doing a auto to 5 spd swap so i want quality and no faulty parts on this swap in order to have everything go smooth.
i tell u a little story about Autozone ,,being an indipendent shop we can offer customer the choise to use factory or go aftermarket and save some money ,,some people chose to save so we USED to install starters, alternators, brake masters, reman a/c compress from,, as i call it ,, DEADZONE ,,after a few months we had to do the work all over again under warranty ,, we warranty our work 1 yr 12k parts and labor .....after geting bitten in the *** so many times we avoid the DEADZONE like the plague,,,,,,

I'd say either OEM Honda or like deserthonda said...a place like BAP.

I used to work at O'Reilly's and IMO their parts aren't any better than deadzone. You get what you pay for but their lower line stuff is complete crap. Stay away from their Ultima and Cardone brands. I personally prefer Advanced Auto Parts (also Parts America I believe) if you have them, good customer service with an updated computer system (vs. O'Reilly's freaking like 10 year old green screen systems). NAPA is pretty good but expensive as hell. CarQuest is crap from my limited experience with them. That's all we got here in the midwest, not sure if all these chains are near you...
H22 in a wagon, now there's something you don't see everyday! More power to you, I bet you surprise some of the ricers lol!

i got a slave cylinder from murray's. forgot what brand, but they are an OE manufacturer for GM, so i figured eh, it cant be THAT bad...+ it was $40 than honda....so i can replace it twice, and still pay less

i will agree that not all of their parts are as good as other places but whos are.....oriellys uses a very good brake company make their parts, if you can get the master cylinder from honda because it is the most vital and then get the slave cylinder from oriellys!!!!!!

oh and thanks for the wagon luv. i love my wagon. something different. there are lots of civics, tegs, and accord sedans around my area that are tricked out. its good to be unique. there was this one guy i worked with with a b16 civic ex who always says he has this and that, so i took him on his offer to go head to head one night after work. i felt bad at the outcome. wasn't even close. from like a 35-40 punch he shut down after like 4 seconds. but i don't challenge many people because of my weight, and i am not even mildly built yet. i get more people with v6's and v'8's challenging me though. one of the biggest issues is that i am auto. i am currently working on my auto to manual swap though. Slowly i am getting there. I have half of my parts list already. I am now focused on getting a p72 w/hondata/ ACT HD clutch kit, and probably a lightend stock flywheel. Getting Qualife LSD will top it all off as far as drivetain. I am going for a sleeper actually. Hopefully in a two years I can have at least half my parts for boost. I don't really have an hp goal. What ever 12-16psi will get me. I would like to have 10:0 compression so I don't really want to boost any higher than that because of the increase risk of a failing motor due to being not being as error freindly as 9:8 or 9:5 compression. I don't want her to be sluggish off boost. And yes I know i have to build the bottom end, lol.

When i replaced my master and slave cylinders with parts from kragan, they were identacal with what was there. Same part number, etc. Now i don't know if i had the oem ones to begin with. THey did last for atleast 30,000 miles, i sold the car, probably doing fine. These aren't crazily complex parts, i wouldn't really worry about it. This was for my clutch btw, but i assume brake parts should be about the same quality wise.
