i swaped my 91 rs to obd1 during a shell swap i was doing by swaping all my harnesses(engine, engine bay, and chassis/interior) from my 93 ls.

hes got that harness but wanted to see if he could use the obdo dissy instead of buying a obd1 dissy and the harness. or is there a way he could just rewire the obdo dissy to work with the obd1 ecu.

i believe that harness enables you to run obd0 wiring with a obd1 ecu.

if he has the conversion harness then you should be able to use the existing obd0 wiring.

thats why they created them...so you could convert a obd2 car to obd1 with just a obd1 ecu....so on and so forth

you will need to use an OBD1 distributor; obd0 wont work.
Pulses are different.

so then whats the point of the wiring harness if you still have to buy and wire up obd1 componets?

the point of the adapter harness is to be able to use a obd1 ecu on an obd0 harness.
plugs and locations are different.

The point of the harness is to make everything plug and play so the ECU, dizzy and motor all work like they are suppossed to together. W/O the harness you would have to splice everything and that would suck, the OBDO parts themselves (ECU,dizzy) just won't work by "rewiring" since they work differently than OBD1 anyway.

you will have to use an obd1/2 dizzy; the obd0 will not work right.

oh ok ok...i see where your going with it. you would have to used a different dizzy if you converted a 0bd2 car to obd1 because the dizzy work similar. i thought from what you said you have to change the dizzy to the corresponding ecu
