Need some help with headunit
Hello. I have just recently started modifying my 97 accord ex, even though I have been on this website for a while. I put an intake on about a week ago, weapon-r secret weapon intake, btw its great, but about 45 minutes afterwards my headunit just stopped working. Would that have anything to do with the intake? On the ex with vtec, there seemed to be a lot of crap on the stock intake, but we just took everything out and put on the new one and hooked the vacuum line back onto the motor. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. I had my headunit installed and purchased at circuit city where we have a warranty, but Im not sure if they will fix it because I did install subs and an amp. Thanks, Justin
Shear coincidence.
The only thing I can remotely think of is the 7.5 amp Back Up Radio Fuse (location 10) may have blown. You may have damaged wiring coming from the under hood fuse block.

dude.. im sorry. i have to add this to my signature. <laughs>
but for this to be a technical post.. did you do anything else, like mess w/the amp wiring or anything that has to do w/the stereo that day? do you have the remote wire going from the cd player to the amp wired right? maybe a wire just came loose from the harness or just a loose connection from the wiring harness to the factory harness?
might be a good idea ,if the all the cars fuses check out, to check the fuse in the cd player or the in-line fuse on the yellow wire that goes to the cd player. i dont see why they would blow, but still might do ya good to check.

Incorrect statement. NEITHER have real training. The only way either of the stores have a good install crew is if they get lucky and hire someone that already knows what he's doing.

Such confidence...
Intrepidv614,
As suggested already, check your fuses. Aftermarket decks usually have a fuse of their own, so don't forget to check that one. If everything looks okay, take your car up to Circuit City and have them look at it since you have a warranty with them. The amp and sub install should not affect the warranty on your headunit, as long as you wired it cleanly and properly.
