Alternator lasts for ???
Btw, did try to search all day...
What would I expect for stock alternator from 98 lx 4 cyl 5sp Accord in terms of life? She's got 125k now, wonder if there's anything I could look at to find wear/problems? Don't have any electrical issues now, cept noise in the stereo, but that's probably because of ground issues after the installation.
Thanx!!!

I had any oem original on our '88 go to 206,000 before the brush assembly required replacement. Quite remarkable considering Domestic examples die at far more frequent rates (and in far more spectacular fashions)

My 92 had the original alternator on it when I sold it 12 years and 185,000 miles later. A guy I used to work with had a corsica and he had to change his every 3 months Chevrolet put them way to close to the engine, and the heat would kill it quickly (at least that's what he claimed). hahahahaha
this link might help out a little. i hope so:

As long as it's not a 98 V-6 which uses a delphi alternator, my mom has one of those and it went at 90K, but my 93 which has a Denso alternator and currently has 334,000 miles on it, I bought the car with 36,000 so maybe they replaced it before I got it but even still it's got 298K on it. not bad if you ask me.
Besides oem, does anybody like some of the "high output" aftermarket ones? Seen some with 150+ amps for better stereo performance. Other than driving electronics, any good reason to go with higher amperage than stock?
Whose alternator is best...

Since I run a couple of amps, wondering if it's a good idea for a few more amps...from the alternator that is...
So, if I was gonna, who does a good high-output amp?
