Problem when pressing the gas in a 90 Integra
Alright I got this 1990 Acura Integra GS auto. When the car is started in the morning or during the daytime. I drive it around the car jerks a little bit. Which I thought that would be fine. But when I wanted to press the gas just little. The RPM gauge would go crazy like it kept on bouncing up and down from 2k to redline. I feel that after it hits redline the car won't go any faster. Do you guys know what the problem with it?
Also I'm getting extremely poor gas mileage. I get around 10mpg to 13mpg.
I did fuel injection cleaning and all the oil changing. Could it be the distributor, fuel filter, and fuel pump might be the culprit?

I don't know the answer for the rpms jumping.
But the jerking is probably a fuel pump about to go out or fuel filter clogged maybe but I doubt it.
I had a van that jerked when i matted it going up hills it would jerk a good bit. Or anytime I put some strain on it jerking would happen. Got the fuel pump, filter, spark plugs, wires, rotor and all that good stuff and it quit.

Check the FF definately but also some of the ignition as well. If it hasnt had a tune up in a while i would change the basic (Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor)
This could be why your getting bad milage because your not burning most of your fuel.

Yeah that what I was thinking too. Just change the ignition and the fuel filter to see if that will solve my problem. I will do that on Monday then.

Nope none.
Nope none.
Finally fix the problem. The problem was loose distributor rotor and ICM(Ignition Control Module) went bad.
ICM control the RPM or Tachometer
Ignition Control Module (ICM) Symptoms:
Needle bounce up and down
Cold start driving cannot pass 3k RPM
Cannot pass 6k RPM when driving hot
While driving fluctuate at 4k RPM.
It bounce from an increment of 200 to 1000 rpm.
When gunning it the RPM bounce from current position to redline and back
Cost: Between FREE(friends) to $100.
In my case I paid $75 to replace the part.
