Similar to a 1g b16a swap except it is OBD1 and has slightly more torque due to the extra displacement over the b16a. It is a good swap and is performed the same as any other b series swap.

If your going to re-build that B17 please do it with high performance work on it . . take care of that U.S. motor it would be nice to see u hit high 12's or low 13's with it in a CRX truely tho i've seen alot of ppl make those motors seem useless because its USDM, with a v-tec head that makes it look even ko0o0oler. but yeaz just do a pretty darn good job !

It's a decent swap, and it's not common. I used to have a B17 in my 90 hatch. Keep it OBD1.

Should be pretty quick I saw a guy in a stripped EF hatch hity 14 flat all da ylong with just the motor and a DC sports header, stock air box and stock exhaust so it has good potential.

if it is going to be a street car the 7 lb fly will not be a good choice...i can get detailed with it, but simply put, the motor does not produce enough torque for that light of a flywheel to be effective...it will actually be worse than ur stock one for everyday driving...i would go with the next heavier one...i believe its like 11 or 12 lbs. its heavy enough that the extra mass will keep the momentum so there is no fluxuation in your rpm going up or down hills...honestly the only car i would put a extremely light fly in would be a drag car...since its only function is to accelerate...the lighter the better

What is the best header I should run on my b17? I am thinkin DC headers. I heard that the 8 pound flywheel is better than the 7 pound flywheel why is that.

the b17 torque is 117lb/ft. Which really is not bad.

I have a 7.5 lb flywheel..And to be honest it's cool..Just the revs fall alot quicker but the motor doesn't cut out like most people say..Acceleration is better in first and 2nd..

Where did you get your 7.5lb flywheel at? Who makes a good clutch for the b17 or b18?
