Yeah so we've been out of the sence for awhile, just keeping low til our R went missing one day. got most of the parts back, but now everytime I go to our local import forum board I get to see people posting pics of there rides with the rest of our stolen parts!!! it is just really pissing me off to see how many people local to me are sporting HOT goods.

can you prove the stuff you see is stolen?

and if so could you contact the police and get them involved to help in any way?

Oh yeah I can prove every part of our old car had everything marked and logged... as far as getting the cops involved, they are too busy sitting on there asses and eating donuts...

But I think I am going out with my steel toes and baseball bat and gonna beat the doors, smash the mirrors, rear bumper, etc. I feel that if I can't have my parts then no one should and I am going to destroy anything I find. I have the go ahead from the police. it isn't against the law to destroy your own property....

I need statisfaction.

Don't go that route. I know you want to, I would feel the same way, but there are alternate routes. Know any cops? Just keep calling until you get somewhere. Be nice to them and see if you can't get the number of a detective. Just keep your head on straight.

If you can Prove the parts are yours then you have a case.

If you can't then you don't, but if you just want to bitch about it on the internet then you aren't doing yourself any good and are actually copping out (no pun intended).

Well that's really mature. And when you get caught and go to jail for this I'm sure you'll be full of satisfaction.

Poor people don't suck - thieves suck. There are rich thieves in this world just as there are poor thieves.

Equating "poor" people with thieves is plain ignorance.

ah yeah I'm not one for the poor only steel, buddy that got caught steeling our R was 19yrs old and works on the oil rigs clear $8g/mnth

as for destroying the parts I find, I won't go to jail if they are my parts. 100% proof. might get arrested till I prove the markings. like I said I have every part marked and our R was the only American spec in the province with a total of 4 ITR's, plus we had the car custom painted Blue pearl.

yeah I did, car was stolen in April, we actually got back engine, drivetrain, suspension, front clip, spoiler. I had a guy try and sell the spoiler on this local website, went a viewed it, I had a fake accoutn and user name set up said I was Doug Johnson, cops loved it. I went searching for 2 months, never even told anyone or posted that the car was stolen. just wanted to keep it low. Worked great in the end.

If it's so obvious and you can prove it then you need to go to the police.

There is nothing we can do.

There is nothing you should do otherwise and especially Not vandalize stuff on someone elses car.

This post was questionable from the start as per forum related/productive, the path it's taking makes it either GDD material or should just be locked.

Best of luck regardless, I know the empty pit you feel in your stomach when your stuff gets stolen but retaliation is not the answer.

oh true, in the end it won't happen, I mean if I did do it, I'd have to make it through a gang of thieves. I was just told by the police that it is fully legal. But realy since the police won't do anything, I just make it fully aware that they are stolen and post pics of the ID markings.letting everyone know it.

I just get frustrated seeing this stuff, one reason why i like HT for the fact that what I see is people's sweat, tears and money into there cars, and I like the ITR forum to beable to social with other R owners.

Sorry for making this post look bad.

i guess the authorities work different in nova scotia.

it seems to me like he did go to the police.

but if the cops told him he can destroy his property, and it was my property on someone's car, how is it vandalizing if its your own stuff? apparently he even asked the cops if he could do this.

in america, something like this probably wouldn't fly well, but unless your from where he is and know how things work, ie authorities not doing anything about it and nothing much he could do, well i think its kinda hard to judge what he shouldn't do.

granted its a shame that he'd have to prove they were his parts after he breaks them instead of cops doing something about it before then.

anyways, to get on topic, did you get hte car back too? are you rebuilding it?

well we didn't get the entire car back, after the first guy got arrested, they hide the rest of the parts and then cut the shell up into 6inch pieces and put it in dumpersters. and that was in July since then they have destributed/sold everything and now it is all showing up on other known thieves cars.

We went out 10 days after it was stolen and bought a new 01 ITR from Ontario it is all stock with 2.5yrs warranty left and is staying that way, as for what we did recover, engine and suspension, that is going to be going into my CRX, engine will be sleeved and built all motor with Toda sports injection. my first plan was to find a USDM FBP ITR shell and install everything into that. but they are hard to find.

Well, best of luck with everything. It sounds like a suck situation. But it would be even worse if you got yourself into trouble, legal or otherwise over this.
