camber kits???
Hey guys help me out. Im looking to get a camber kit for my car. Everything that I read says that integras and front wheel drive cars in general, typically dont have a stock front cambers...makes sense, but nothing is ever said about the rear. Do I need a camber kit for the rear as well or does the rear already have one on it????????? What is a good camber kit for the money??
Typically a camber kit is needed more for the rear than for the front. Also, from what I hear, Ingalls is the most popular brand. But a camber kit is just a camber kit, right??

and ingalls is the most well-known, whether or not they are the best is up for question. just rotate your tires alot (if u dont wanna spend 150)

you can buy them used for like 50 bucks. front is more important if you want your wheels to last longer since you turn with them and put power to the ground with them. rear can be done for free
Ingalls is the choice by many. Front and rear need it for tire wear... and for handling really. don't do a half *** job on your suspension... you're putting your own life, and others, at risk. what happens when the ground is wet and you loose control b/c your tires aren't making full contact with the asphalt?
For the back, u can add washers to ur camber. I did it to my car, and my cambers are really straight in the back. Costed me couple cents, go to home depo. I put 2 washers in the back andi lowered it like 2.25 inches.

yeah i got my alignment done right away after i dropped my car with the camer kit cause my car's alignment was so off it was barely driveable. My tires were screeching just driving straight. And about the Washers, i kept my stock bolts and it worked just fine. I dont think im really gonna worry about that, just gonna leave it alone. Thanx for the great info thou!

97 Honda Civic- progress (front), GSR (back)
98 gsr-t just ordered ingalls for front and back
I would go with ingalls or progress and just make sure if you lower your car more than 2.25" to get the adjustable arm for the back and not just the washers and a longer bolt. Tried that on my Civic and it didn't change the camber enough at all.
for the rears you can just go ghetto like i did and use washers from home depot.. it cost like 7 cents (literally) each... you just place them between where the upper suspension arm mounts to the cars body/frame... you MAY need to get longer bolts.. in my case i didnt... i forget the size.. could have been 1/2" washers.. but DON'T quote me on this as I did this a few years ago and i really cant remember the size of the washer... i'll spend money on quality parts and mods.. but to pay like $100 for 2 plates (1 on each side) forget that...
also make sure your Toe angles are in check when you get your alignment.. this helps A LOT w/ tire wear.... my car is lowered and has some negative camber.. but I keep my toe angles in check (by getting an alignment) and i rotate my tires every oil change (every 3K).. yeah its excessive..but my wear is pretty normal/even.. so its all good

I've been using the washer method in the rear for quite some time now, and from my experience it works great. Camber is fine and it's sturdy. As for the fronts I use Ingalls and I can also vouch for them.... my friend had progress camber kits and it didn't look like you could adjust it like the Ingalls.... I think the Progress kit only had 2 settings to choose from.... HTH

i have seen the skunk2 camber kit which replaces the upper control arm and has a sliding ball joint. costs around $200 for the front kit. does anyone have experience with these?
thanks,

i got a cheap *** kit. The center nut with the offset hole keeps sliding back and forth in the housing causing it to knock against inner sides of the a arm when weight is shifted. pain in the ***.
progress user here.. yeah only 2 settings but then again how many times do you need to adjust the camber?
for the rear washer trick, look at the upper control arm where it attaches to the gas tank. there's 2 bolts connecting it.

ingallz suck. i have the front camber kit, and u know what, it beats up my car pretty badly. cause i have two new dents under my hood, (right above the ingallz camber kit) and the paint is not chipping off were the dents are forming.
my god.
and for the rear, i am getting the sprint rear camber kit. its only 70 bucks. and i dont think a few washers will help me out. cause the left wheel is pretty damb slanted. ( cause a tow truck hit my car once, on the left side).
the right wheel is kinda straight.
my god.

oh crap, is that where the dent is coming from? i have sprint camber kit on the front and i got a dent under the hood too, near my shock area. My paint is chipping off around that area also. Is that dangerous?

Ingalls (http://www.ingallseng.com/) is by far the best.
Also different camber kits adjust the camber in differnt ways. I have talked to the profesionals at Ground Control and they say Ingalls is the best
