ive searched alot and have found nothing, i even tried e-bay. anyone know where i can find a usdm h22 wit obd2?? when i search all i can find are jdm engines if i find a usdm one it an obd1. wtf?? i found one obd2 (h22a4) but it was also jdm, must i go to a junk yard or is there a place that i can call to get a full swapp for a 96 accord? i live in california and would like to do a swap. but of course it need to be obd2 so that i can atemp to make pass the ref and get a BAR sticker. any help would be apreciated. and no i dont want an obd1 engine, thanks

nope, tried them, and sevral other motor shops, everyones sooo stuck on jdm that they dont even know or want to point me in the right direction on where to find an obd2 usdm engine. i rather use a usdm engine and be able to pass the refs inspection and ger BARed then to run around and have to pay somone 200 bucks every 2-3years to pass smog, at the same time here in central cali, police are hittin hard on mod imports.. i dont want to spend 3500+ bucks and get pulled over and have to get that all fixed and cost me another 3500. i rather do it right, the power frm a jdm engine to a usdm is not goin to be a great differnce anyways

wat is a USDM

 

US DOMESTIC MARKET, basically made here in the USA. makin it possible to pass emissions. ( i may be wrong) but frm wut i understand u cannot pass emmissions legally and get BARed wit a jdm swap. my car is under contruction as we speak and has no engine.. puttin a lil somthin in the f22b2.. but would rather get an h22 and get it BARed. its goin to get a spray of champ white and has all shaved xcept gas lid. c/f hood and trnk. . itr rims and tryin to get some spoon type mirrors for it but no luck yet..oh and btw its a 96 accord ex sedan.

I guaruntee that USDM H22 is gonna hard break within 2 years, my 99 OBD2 USDM H22 blew a bearing on the crank shaft after 97k miles were put on it, I bought it when it had 90k on it. A friend of mine threw a rod on his, and I know of another person in the area blowing a head gasket, meanwhile all of the JDM H22s I've seen have been running smooth.

On the bright side, I'm looking to sell the head off my USDM H22, but I'm still out about 1.5 grand.

 

Why dont you settle for an obd1 jdm h22? Do you have an accord lx or ex?

 

i have a 96ex which is an obd2. again i want to try to get BARed.

 

move out of cali stat. **** i dont even have a catalytic converter.

Just convert it over to obdII. Swap out injectors, alt and dizzy

 

dont forget oil pump also

 

I got a usdm h22 obd2 ecu for sale if u need one

 

Maybe try searching junk yards to pull one out of a 97+ prelude. That could be a gamble though. Good luck hunting.
