Default how do you take out the pully from the crank that the t-belt runs off?

i think its about a 22tooth pully attached to the crank that spins the timing belt. how does this come off? i somehow got the crank out with it attached to the pully but i wanna see the bearing so that pully needs to get off

it should slide right off. there will also be a keyway, remove that and slip it off.

Won't it pry off after you soak it with lubricant? Make sure the key is out, the soak that thing in penetrant. Try easing it out with a prybar or fat screwdriver. Or clamp the gear with a pair of vise grips and try to wriggle it free. Last resort I would do is to heat the gear up with a torch.

I've come across a couple of stubborn gears before, but they come out without resorting to drastic measures.

gun the bolt out for the crank pulley(use a chain vise to hold it from spinning), slide the key out and the gear for the timing belt should slide off easy

I think its the gear itself thats stuck and not the pulley.

Like he said "what bearing".

The oil pump is behind that gear.

all you'll see behind that 4 screw cover is the gearsets for the oilpump... no reason for taking it apart, at all.

replace the pump as a whole

you could use a bearing seperator, and a 2 jaw gear puller if its really on there...

Heating one end of your crank can cause warping...not to mention, there's oil in them thar crankcases... Liquid wrench and check you manual to make sure you didn't forget some stupid little thing

honda technicians say to use a pully puller. it will not just slide off. this is not the crank pully. its the 22th gear the timing belts runs from

We know what your talking about, and it should just slide right off. Give it a few taps with a rubber mallet or something.

I'm with xerox on this one, try a bearing puller, put some pulling load on it, then tap it genlty with a rubber hammer, that's what I do to bust rusted brake rotors off, works great. If you don't have a puller, go rent one for $5.
