Also this head has a thincker deck surface. If used with a dart block that also has a taller deck? what does this mean? how will this affect compression and would u need custom rods?

The place I work is getting one soon. The only difference from what i have read is the port walls are thicker to allow for more porting, and it is supposed to be a "better" casting. I would ask Brad from RLZ if they have ever checked this head out. As for the rods, If you had a Tall deck dart then yes you need different rods, As for the head it is basically the same in stock configuration, You would need to cc the head to figure out compression.

i think these heads might be the ones designed and made by a company out of australia. i cant remember the name of the company. they went **** up and i bet RHS bought all the heads. they are based off a GSR head. i
ve seen one in person if its the head i think it is. casting is a little rough, needs some fine tuning in the machining area but looks decent.
pro topline was the name of the company.

I dont know but im gonna buy one as soon as i figure out what these flow and what the posibilities are. From the protopline site i can see that the intake flows better then alot of the stock port and polished heads do. Still no info on exhaust.

We are in the process of getting a Slider for honda heads for our Superflow 1020 flow bench. So I will flow it when that happens. It won't be for a little while though, After the PRI show.
RLZ (Brad), What do you use to flow Heads? Just Curious if you made your own?

Really, small world I guess. Just took Brzezinski (Randy) a bunch of SBC heads for cores. Real nice guy!

From what comp cams said the last time I talked with them (which was a while ago now) they were sorting thru what protopline had produced and working on sourcing casting new ones.My guess the ones you saw at sema were the ones protopline produced.

Im really interested in getting the flow numbers. From what the protopline website specs say this is a bitching head stock and with some work is bad ***. Hope to make some power with this on a dart block. Just need to know if i should get this of if im better of having work done on a stock gsr or b16 head.

Don't get to hung up on advertised flow numbers.Everyone has their own way of flow testing heads. The advertised numbers are usually optimistic. Its rare that I get the numbers on my bench that are advertised.Bench flow numbers are only an indication of hp potential.I have had heads that made good numbers not live up to the numbers on the dyno. But I have had some heads exceed their calc. hp numbers on the dyno.On set in particular by a lot.My experience with the protopline heads (not the honda one,as I never had one) have been that most made good power but needed some close inspection.

It will be way cheaper to do your stock head. PM MAX_CFM, he is well known for doing great flowing heads! That is who I would recomend. He would probably know flow #'s on the RHS head as well. Good luck!

Well not cheaper as its hard to find a stock head for 400 and then my guess is like another 600-800 for port and polish. I can get my hands on a rhs head for much less.

Would like to keep the rhs stock and see what power it makes. Then later on do the works on it.

From what it look slike im gonna be the guini pig on this one. Im really curious as to how these heads perform.

My "guess" is that it will not make anymore power than a oem GSR head. They really didn't change much in the design of the ports or chambers. This isn't a bad thing. If you can get one new for $900 ish then I'd go for it.Protopline had a billet cap option.Do these have the billet caps?
