Default Qs about hondata and VAFC

Does anyone know if it is ok to use hondata on a P72 with a VAFC v.2 hooked up? Can the VAFC be zeroed out then the car tuned with hondata? The reason I ask is because I have an appointment to get hondata installed this weekend but I am currently using a vafc and don't have the opportunity to disconnect it. Anyone run their car with a vafc installed and hondata? thanks

how did you have the vafc installed, did you have it soldered in, or did you use a harness at the ecu

either way theres a plug in the vafc cord that runs to the ecu, just unplug the vafc and install your hondata then at a later date completly uninstall the vafc wireing

Do you think the left over harness from the VAFC would mess with the wiring's operation? I guess I'm paranoid but I wonder if there are any issues with too much resistance from the extra wiring or something. I won't be able to remove the wiring any time soon because of my schedule, and I need to get the hondata in because my car is pinging.

... well that and the manifold pressure/vacuum wire which was probably cut during the VAFC installation (not to mention probably a wire or two having to do with timing with version 2).

I run a Hondata S100 and still have a VAFC hooked up. Just zero out the VAFC and it's fine. You have to use the VAFC to set the VTEC switchover point however, as it overides the ECU.

That would be just fine, but it doesn't matter either way.

Do not follow the instructions of just "unplugging" the vafc, There is an in and an out wire for your map sensor, going in and out of the vafc, if it is dissconnected you will have no MAP reading. Just zero out all your settings and it will be dandy, it will not do any harm being installed with all setting zeroed.
