coilover or springs
can`t find it on a search so for $250 i can go with coilover or just springs i think the coilover are HP.. and the springs are progressive.. i think... what would be the best way to go here..?? i like the idea of coilovers for summer and winter driv`n (up in the wint down in sumr) whats going to be the better ride and how much better
I have had coilovers and I am going to try springs next because I didn't like the coilovers. I didn't lower and raise them that often adn they didn't ride too well even with the aftermarket shocks. I would say go with springs. Just my 2 cents for the day.
dont touch the HP coilovers, a friend of mine had them on his EF and they sucked some SERIOUS ***!!
get H&R race instead, cheaper and will outhandle those generic piles of chit any day of the week
btw we're both from kelowna as well

Well I have a set of H&R coilovers. I would tell you how they ride but dammit I broke something. Yup I broke the lower shock mounting bolt on the rear lower control arm. I tried drilling and it just ripped apart the bushing. So now I either find another control arm, or buy new poly bushings and burn the old rubbers out.
I've been wondering the same thing, I live in the midwest, and I already know how bad it sucks driving a crx at stock height in snow, but are there springs out there that just would lower a rex enough to handle better and look more agressive? (can't tell me no one at least kinda puts springs on there car for that reason) Also, if there are some out there, is it ok to get springs first and eventually upgrade shocks? or should they be done at the same time?
You can do springs first and then shocks. Your stock shocks will probably be more stressed with the springs and wear out faster, but by that time you would have saved for the shocks by then.

DONT GET COILOVERS!! unless you are spending 1200-3000 on a full coil-over suspension, or are building a show car. Coilovers, unless taken to a shop to get 4-corner balanced, will never be balanced on a car. Which means youll be driving on different spring rates all around (you can get them close...but if you lower them ..What is your spring rate?? is it more in front or in back..youll never know). If you want performance and dont want to spend a grand or more...get a spring and strut combo. I had a post earlier about what I learned from an Eibach tech....check it out..it will help you out a lot.

so how about getting some tokico blues with neuspeed sport springs. does anyone have any tokico blues. if so, how do you like them. i found a deal for 430.00 shipped: neuspeed sport springs with tokico blue shocks. how does that sound?
So..i cant find my old post about springs...sorry. About the neuspeed/blue combo. Alot of guys are down on it..but my friend adam has the exact same setup, and he loves it. It rides smooth and handles nice.

I ran the Neuspeed sport/Tokico blue setup and it sucked. Springs are way to soft for the struts, car would bounce like mad from any sort of dips or road irregularities. I hit the bumpstops constantly. My Skunk2's actually ride better with the Tokico's when not lowered too much. But I wouldn't suggest that either since I just blew out one of them after having them only 15 months. I would never, ever, ever get Tokico blues again. Damn Landspeed Racing for dropping AGX the week I ordered my parts! And then suggesting Blues with Skunks! I will never forgive them!

i had ground controls with tokico blues before...i blew out the fronts in about 1.5 years...i mean, its not like i drove around town with tucked-in tires, they just kinda didn't work well on my car. now i'm riding on kyb agx's with the gc's....i'm still bottoming out. and now i can't adjust my front passenger side spring up anymore coz its up all the way and the driver's side is down all the way. my car stands about normal...but everything's off...i think i'm goin back to springs. not the h&r race though, because i had those before too with my tokico's and the ride was WAY too stiff....maybe i'll just settle with some eibachs....
there is a set of ground control coil overs on sale for 279 at some site do you think this is a good price? and is there anyone in here who has had a good experience with coilovers?
