I'm pretty sure the smsp header is a little more then $700.

.....compression makes a difference. What is the static comp. for both you and siinsi? Stock (usdm 10.6:1 or jdm 11.1:1)?

Mike K's is 1847cc, like Vegeta said it's about as big as a 1.8 can be.

85.0mm x 81.4mm = 1847cc

Still considered a 1.8, although the B20B plaque on the block is often confusing to most people.

not bad, Mike K ... but us NY/NJ peeps got you beat with 1820cc and TODA RACING camshafts

150 lb-ft torque and 222hp ... with ITBs
with skunk2 gsr manifold 144 lb-ft and 214hp

peak hp at 8800rpm and flat torque line from 4700 to 7900rpm even with stock 1.58 r/r your 1.7x r/r prolly outshines this but, she's got good VE.

For both B18c5-crx. Siboneys dyno seems to read a little high.
fot Mike K - The mustang dyno they use is often VERY low on the HP side when dynoing, compare this with the 95-100 degree weather in naples and theres the missing HP. Put mike k's b20 on the dyno here in orlando I bet it hits 230-240. Just my 2cents.

good call Wes......I thought they had a dynojet in ft. myers though...is it a Mustang dyno?? if so that would explain why people go to the tampa dyno and gain 10whp without modifying anything

It's not a Mustang dyno. It's Dynojet.. but the guy hasn't had it calibrated in the 7-8 years he's been there. So I think it's fair to say it's not reading up to par.

Also, Dustin's ITR was like mid 180s at the dyno in Orlando, one week later he came to me, and he rolled up at like 170hp in Ft.Myers. He was like 178 when we were done if I remember correctly.
He couldnt figure it out.. was Ft.Myers low or was Orlando high?

Greg- sounds like a nice setup. what's the compression ratio on that motor?
wonder what she'd do w/some joon cams in there.

hey mike K its a friend of mine who I built the motor up for, his car's e/t is in the high 11's low 12's range in a 5g h/b all motor on slicks. Ralphy at DRT is still pulling more power out of her with the new DFI ... compression ratio is around the 12.5:1 range with the Endyn Rollerwaves for 81.5mm bore. We dyno'd here with 93 octane.

Speaking of Endyn Rollerwaves, my strutted pistons are done and ready, got a call from Larry saying pics are up in the components section since I was the first customer to get them, he snapped some pics before sending them off for me for CHEETAH ... racing will be fun this year, hope you guys would take a trip north to NJ or at least to VA ... hope to see you there, bring the milky man too when you coming LOL.

There is no calibration to be made on a dynojet, only elevation level. Once you set that in the settings, there's nothing else to adjust, ever. That's the beauty of a dynojet, consistant numbers every time with the fewest numbers of variables.

So how would that explain over 10whp difference between 2 dynos?

It's not like they were in different time zones.
One in Fort Myers, one in Orlando. Less than 4 hrs away. Elevation can't be THAT much different. Florida is flat as hell.

The guy who invented the dynojet dyno should win the nobel prize in physic for invented the first, no wear, no maintenance mechanical device in the world

But seriously there is got to be maintenance done on a system like that (bearings, pulleys, belts ...whatever) and whenever something is change or adjusted you must recalibrate everything to make sure you are still up tp par. If nothing was done in 8 years I would doubt the dyno is 100% reliable.
