Vtec head Question
I'm new to this forum. I've been looking for this awnser, I have a idea but I'm still not sure. Maybe you guys can help me.
What classifies a complete vtec head. With TB, IM, Dizzy,Injector...to be Obd0, 1, 2?
Can you just replace the Dizzy to change it from obd2 to 1 or even 0?
The reason I'm asking this, I have 90 teg which I will change to obd1. I was looking to buy a b16a2 head complete, but my friend told me it was an obd2. Which I don't want, but figure I can change some parts to make it obd1. Thus the above question.
Thank you

The distributor plugs are the only OBD specific componenet attached to the head. VTEC pressure and VTEC solenoid remain the same.
Usually you wont get the IM/TB/injectors with a head. But if that is the case, then the injector plugs need to be changed, but most aftermarket injectors use OBD1 style clips so its better just to use OBD1 injectors. Remember, all B-series injectors are the same, just the plugs that change through the years.

cool thanks guys.....I've been reading on obd0,1,2. I got a sistuation, I have a 90da teg obd0. I'm planning on getting a b16a,2 to do a common Lsvtec. My question is : Do i stick with a obd0 and get a PR3 ECU or would you go with obd1. Then I'll have to get a harness conversion, and a new ECU. Also i believe there are engine tuning programs for obd1 only.Is this true. Which would you say is the better route. Any thoughts would help. Thank you
Check out pgmfi.org
There are a number of OBD-0 tuning programs. BRE, GhettoDyno and TurboEdit are all OBD-0 softwares.
However, you'll get a little more support from OBD1 softwares due to their popularity over OBD0.
If you have the extra money to convert to OBD1, you'll be better off IMHO.
