Default Brake Master Cylinder question.

I have gotten this "new" brake MC from Ebay.

Does this look right? The piston does not stick out the end. Am I supposed to release the ring?

TIA.

No, the existing rod goes there. I did mine on my 4th gen, just make sure to prime the thing with DOT 3, then re-bleed the brakes. Follow the included instruction for MC, they seemed to work fine for me.

Do you mean that there is an existing rod in on the booster that will go there? Or is it missing a rod? Thanks.

If your car is a 5th Gen (I have no idea; since after being in here for GOD knows how long, you don't see fit to put the discription in your signature), the rod in question is part of the vacume booster (refer link for illustration).
I would have to ASSUME it's the same for all.
