Default My 1/4 mile times....

I just got back from the track, here are my times, i'll put down the specifics for the best one. I was presently surprised at them.

1st run - 15.80 - missed 3rd gear
2nd run - 14.95 - yummy
3rd run - 15.24 - bad launch
4th run -
R/T ... .531
60' ... 2.503
330 ... 6.486
1/8 ... 9.745
MPH ... 75.38
1000 ... 12.537
1/4 ... 14.907
MPH ... 95.15

The mods I have was a fields sfc-vtec controller, and tire pressure was 23 psi, other then that all stock.
I figure, i get some drag radial and my time will improve since the fields mostly helps the high end power

you 60' should be in the 2.2 range, you need to work on your launch or get better tires!

are you sure you drive a GSR? j/k. vtec controller changes the rpm at which vtec engages. something like an apex VAFC costs around 300 bucks. never installed one.

how the heck did you get such a good time with a bad launch and stock gsr? That car must pull hard.

What year GSR do you have?
Those seem like REALLY low times for such a shitty 60 foot. Can you post the timeslips?

but im only getting 15.1 and im shifting like a fast ****.

Installation on a vafc isn't too bad. It's tedious and requires care. Make sure you hook up the correct wires. A soldering iron is probably necessary.
Good times for a basically stock gs-r

Too be more specific, I took out my spare tire, the cardboard plate in the trunk, some of the panels (weight nothing), and also took out the antenna and wiper motor.
The tires i had were 14in steelies at 23 psi.
I set my v-tec crossover to 52 (shh, don't tell anybody), everything else is stock

I put my GSR in the 14 second club with a AEM CAI and a slight drop on stock tires (high 14.9). Since then I have added DC 4-1, Apex N-1, Skunk2 Manifold, Skunk2 Cam Gears, DC Short Throw, & VAFC and pulled the same time (low 14.9).

Clutch and Tires are crap now so I can't wait to have them replaced this spring and see what will happen then.

Good run.

My thoughts exactly! If you can get down to the 2.2-2.1 range on your 60' time, you'll be running mid 14s. Sounds like you got lucky and got yourself an unusually fast GS-R.

Yea, I know my 60 ft times sucked, i couldn't get them under 2.4 the whole day. BUT those were on steelies w/ about 10-15% tread left, on my Kumho's I got a 2.3 60ft time and a 1.8 60ft time (my guess the 1.8 time was a computer error) the last time i went to the track.
Drag radials are in the works, the 195/60/14 tires are bulging out the sides already so do you think I would need new rims?

must have a strong motor. your MPH is really good. Most GSRs will hit 92-93 mph.

hmmm...doesn't look right. That trap speed is awfully high for a stock GSR. I doubt the sfc-vtec controller gave you that much hp, it doesn't do much for a stock car. I don't wanna call bs cuz it's not impossible but that trap speed is too high for a stock GSR. Any weight reduction?

The only way that trapspeed of 95 mph is possible in a "stock" GS-R is under these conditions.

-removed resonator/modified stock airbox
-disconnecting the stock muffler or open header.

Many people do these things, and some how "forget" to mention them
If you hear of an outlandish stock time, 99% of the time, the driver did some "free mods" to their "stock" car.
