Default HEAD SWAP???

I have a 91 crx hf. YOu know d15b6 engine. 8 valves, 90 horsepower. Thats some scary power there. But to test the laws of phyiscs themselves I was wonering if I could swap in a head from a crx si, also what kind of power gains(if any) could I expect.

first you have only 62 hp.yes you can put the head of crx si.but convert your dpfi to mpfi and you have approxymattely 100 hp.

According to my Chilton's Repair Manual:
D15B6 1.5L(1493) DP-FI 62hp @ 4500rpm 90ft. lbs. @ 2000rpm

Now my manual says dpfi but i thought they were mpfi. What is up with that? Also those numbers are at the crank and why are you so positive we are all wrong and you are right?

I think 88-89 were dpfi and 90 and above was mpfi. And the early ones only had 62 hp and the crank and the newer ones had 70.

90-91 HF is MPFI 70hp at the CRANK

I can garuntee you that it did come that way, as I have worked on several 89's at my shop, and a freind of mine owns one. According to my Helms Factory Service Manual for the 1988 CRX, it also had MPFI rated at 62 HP. Please stop throwing around misinformed information, it helps no one!

Yea What He Said
I Just transplanted a Dx block and head into my Hf and the reason why i did not just switch the head is because i did not know if the piston would le it or not. Now I know and am glad i didn't

after further research i found that the 88-89 CRX HF has MPFI(62 crank hp) and the 90-91 CRX HF also has MPFI(70 crank hp) the 88-91 CRX DX has DPFI(90 crank hp). i dont care about being wrong about the MPFI/DPFI and which years came with which. i was proving my point that his motor(d15b6) didnt have 90hp at the crank.

It would still be slow because of the transmission. So you would have to change that out if you wanted to get any power from the swap.
