Default bout to start getting parts for my LS/VTEC... need to know if im missing anything.

Ok.. Im about to start getting parts for my LS/VTEC Bottom End Build.

Here is what I have so far:

B18a1 Block
Golden Eagle LS/VTEC Dowel Pins for the VTEC Head
Golden Eagle LS/VTEC Oil supply line
JDM ITR STD Pistons w/ rings, and wrist pins
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP Head Studs
OEM LS Headgasket
OEM B18c1 Timing Belt
OEM B18c1 Waterpump
OEM B18c1 Timing Belt Tensioner
OEM Type R Oil Pump
OEM or ACL Crank and Rod Bearings

I plan on having the block hot tanked and honed.

Is it necessary to have the crank micropolished and balanced? if so, I will have that done too.

What about having the rods shot penned? what exactly is that?

And a few small misc. parts like seals, oil rings, etc...

How does all this sound? let me know if I am leaving anything else out.. Thanks guys.

Oh ya, and Hondata S100 for tuning.

Sounds like a great setup so far. If the block is going to get honed see if the machine shop can use a finer grit stone like honda calls for. Most shops use like a 240 grit and honda says around 400. Also make sure the piston to wall clearance doesnt go above .001 -.0015 thou. Have the crank journals polished and cleaned the balance is really good on stock cranks....I have mine checked but they never need it. Use oem rings they seal very nicely.

Good idea to get the cylinders honed. It's a must when installing new pistons. The only thing that sucks about hot tanking a block is that it must be completely bare.

Not needed

Again, not needed. Guys have been making great power on stock ls rods.

What head are you planning on using?

hot tanked=should be free if your having work done
honed=should be no more than 10-15 per hole

micro polished and balance=mine cost 100 even

You need an ECU, P28 and OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness.
