Anybody have problems blowing there igniters?
I seem to blow them steady from revving them out in the summer time. In a two week span I blew 5 of them. 4 of them being brand new!! I have had a few others tell me the same! Is it from the heat? Is there anyway to try to correct this problem?
Not to normal in my experience. Perhaps your coil is shorted somewhat internally causing too much current to flow through the igniter, thus causing it to burn up prematurely.
Have you ever measuerd the resistance of your coil with a multi-meter?

its either a short or most likely a bad ground i had the same problem and i'd go throw an ignitor like every 2-3 days i checked the distributor w/ a multimeter and it turned out to be a bad ground
And igniters are NOT cheap. I had one burn. I replaced it with an aftermarket one, which I think is not as good so I just ordered a stock one. I dunno why the burn. There wasn't anything else wrong with my car. Grounding was fine, coil is fine.
