Default Spoon ECU worth the money?

I was doing a search on ebay as I usually do from time to time. I came across a spoon ecu which I have seen more than once on ebay. I liked the idea of this ecu because it was already programed and its plug and play. I was looking at the hondata s200 unit without boost which runs about roughly $300 plus another $300 or so for installing the unit plus an hour of dyno time to get the engine properly tuned. I figured I could just to get a little more power without upgrading to a turbo as my resolution. Total price for spoon ecu is $200 and hondata is $600. I thought it would be best to save $400 and it put it towards something better. What do you guys think?

Have you asked the seller if that is a real "spoon" ECU??? Find out if it is the real deal... if it is... then get it and put the 400 on something else as you mentioned!

Good luck!

what spoon ecu are you looking at? chances are it is just a socketed ecu running a "spoon program" or so they say. a chipped ecu will do nothing major for your car, let alone an overpriced spoon ecu.

Even if it was a real spoon ecu, what is the point? You did not put parts on your motor that allow more air or fuel to get to the combustion chamber easier/faster, so why do you need anything but a stock ecu?

i just looked at the link and that is not an authentic spoon ecu. real ones will have tape sealing the lid on to see if it has been tampered and they didnt have any sohc ecu's...

Screw it, might as well stay stock or get it chipped, "spoon" is not worth the money, in my opinion.

first off, It's a fake.

secondly, 8500rpm rev limiter? on a F22? can we say "bye bye valvetrain"? I'm scared of running my H22A that high.

third, as stated above, Spoon doesn't make a damn thing for any SOHC, let alone the F22B single cam.

It's already been stated that the ECU is B.S.
