whats up with this P13ecu chip!! (91 accord h22a)
i wanted to know if there is a disadvantage in having the p/13 ecu, ive read some of the postings and some people sugessted p/27 or i think p/28 something other than p/13. what are the advantages of other ecu chips will it give my car better overall performance? if so, how can i get these other ecu's
the p28 and p72 are both supported by hondata, wheras the p13 is not...so if you are planning on doing some extensive tuning, then these ecu's will need to be employed...the p72 came on integras and the p28 came on civic si/del sol si...the p28 doesn't use the butterflies in the intake manifold or a knock sensor, which can either be an advantage or disadvantage depending...

If your talking about simply swapping ecu's to boost performance, which I'm guessing you are, it's not gonna happen. The threads you have been reading are in reference to using some sort of tuning software (i.e. Hondata, Uberdata, Chrome). These are only needed when you have extensive modifications done to the vehicle and need to fine tune fuel, ignition, etc.

i do plan on doing some tunning in the future, cause i am not going to turbo. is it expensive to get these chips(p27 or p72)? and how much should it cost to have it installed?,because i dont work on my car a honda specialist does
First, you would HAVE to tune if you went turbo
Second, p27 and p72 are not chips, they are ecu's
And as far as all the work to socket an ecu..... depends on the route you want to go. If you want to learn to tune yourself (check out http://www.pgmfi.org ), you'd spend around $150-$200. If you go the Hondata route (where you still have to tune yourself or find someone to tune for you) it gets exceptionally more pricey.
