True, but there's a first time for everything. I did my cams myself a few months ago - took about 4-5 hours. I could probably do it in half the time now that I know how. If your not doing cam gears, it saves a bunch of time too, since you don't have to remove the timing belt. It's not very hard, but you just have to make sure you torque everything right and set your valve lash properly.

If you pay a shop to do it, it will cost you at least $400, but probably more. What's your budget look like?
If you've ever done your timing belt before, then you can handle the cams/gears & springs yourself. If not, then it may be worth your peace of mind to have a shop do it, but it wont be cheap.
