Built B18c1/B16a head in a CRX. Exhaust pieces include an AN-R compact header, Carsound 2.5" hi flow cat, Magnaflow 2.5" hi flow resonator, 2.5" tubing into an AC Autotechnic hi flow muffer with silencer.
Since I have 270 for compression on all cylinders, this beast is LOUD with only the resonator and muffler without the silencer. I was told a cat will dampen the sound a bunch or another resonator.
I don't want to hurt my flow. Do you guys thnk putting in the cat will help the sound level or hurt my flow?
Thanks

A cat will help quiet the exhaust, and if you use a true high flow cat it won't affect the flow.
But, you listed that you are already running a carsound high flow cat.

What cat are you talking about?
So, you have a carsound high flow cat now and it's too loud for you? What were you referring to in this last quote where you said, "... the cat..."?

Sorry for the confusion - I didn't express myself correctly.
I have the exhaust pieces sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. I had a similar setup (same motor) on a Civic and it was loud without the silencer on the muffler.
I've got the carsound (Magnaflow) cat and am not sure if I should install it this time on the CRX...

Oh! Okay.
Yeah, the carsound cat is a good quality cat and shouldn't hurt your performance at all. And yes, it will sound much less raspy with the cat installed.
