Default still knda slow!!!!

need a little help. Ive worked pretty much all the kinks out of my swap, (which by the way is a b16 in a 91 si) . Anyways for some reason my cars just doesnt seem as fast as it should be. Ive driven in other cars w/similar swaps, and they seem to pull harder. I have a cm flywheel, act clutch, w/ a j1 tranny. I had a y1, which really sucked, i swapped in the j1, and although the gears are closer, it still doesnt accelerate like it should. I raced my friend w/ the same swap, but he has a slipping clutch and stock flywheel, I actually started in front of him, and somehow he was able to go around my ***, somethin is definitly wrong. Im starting to think a got an motor that was originally equiped w/ a automatic tranny. but im not for sure. Any suggestions guys?

That could be right, I know ZCs that came with automatics are quicker off the line, but dont have as much in high revs, autos have different cams than manuals. Not sure if its the same on a b16(probably).

do a compression test to see if your motor is like his. also, a normal tune-up does wonders on a motor (especially one that's 12 years old). i still have to find the time to do a tune-up on my car too...have you timed your car in the 1/4? and do you have a full interior? my car weighs 2400 lbs WITHOUT me in the car (full interior and a speaker box). kinda hefty i think...

it is the stock cat, but it never really gave me a problem w/the other motor, im thinkin the motor may have those automatic cams, which have a different cam profile than the regular ones do. I may be wrong though, if so what the hell can it be?

Your stock cat was enough flow to acomidate your old engine. Now you have a sweet engine and your cat cant let the exhaust flow. I would take off the cat and put a straight pipe for now and test it if its better then get a high flow cat. I would tell you just to take off the cat and leave open header for testing but 2 problems:

1. Wakes up hole town

2. You actually think its faster cause it sounds so FRIKEN LOUD.
